• Renovations -- Renovations to the Chase Building are proceeding well, with few disruptions expected after classes start. The Department Office has moved back to the 2nd floor.

• Public Reading, Musical Performance -- In conjunction with the shortlisting of his book "Our Days Are Numbered" for an Atlantic Book Award, Dr. Jason Brown will give a public reading/musical performance on Monday, April 12, 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the Company House, 2202 Gottingen St. He will be accompanied by Sageev Oore of "Gypsophilia", an alumnus of this department.
• Mathematics Predicted Gold -- Local hero Sydney Crosby and comedian Shaun Majumder doing some arithmetic gymnastics, predicting Olympic gold before it happened.

• John Lennon and Mathematics -- On Dec. 8, the anniversary of John Lennon's death, an Interview with Dr. Jason Brown was published in the "National Post"

• Dal Teams Win Big -- The two Dalhousie teams consisting of Victor Guo & Ethan Macaulay and Fred Sy & Wei Dan won 1st and 3rd place, respectively, at the APICS math. competition, Oct. 23.
• Math Camps -- July 5-10: The Department hosted two math camps:
  The BEA Math Camp for 30 junior high school students.
  The CMS Math Camp for 20 high school students.
• Math Circles Launch -- The launch event for the expanded Math Circles took place on June 1st. See also the Dal News Article.

• Distinguished Lecture Series - "Mathemagics" by Dr. Arthur Benjamin of Harvey Mudd College. Monday, May 12, 2008.
