Teaching(RJ Wood)
Like most mathematicians, I don't really own any classes. Like most of
my colleagues in the Mathematics Division, I usually teach some
advanced classes and some introductory classes. At the graduate and
senior undergraduate level my teaching tends to be closer to my
research interests so that I often teach Category Theory and Lattice
Theory. In particular, I am now interested in developing these classes
so as to make them useful for and accessible to Computer Science
students --- as well as Mathematics students. I have also taught Algebra
and Measure Theory at this level and particularly enjoy the latter.
My undergraduate teaching has included Logic, General (modern) Algebra,
Linear Algebra, Set Theory, Combinatorics, Database Theory, Computer
Programming, Linear Programming, Analysis, and all levels of Calculus.
For a number of years my introductory classes have been those in
Linear Programming and Calculus aimed at business students.
