Second Midterm early option. Some of you have a Chemistry midterm right after the Math 2030 midterm on Monday. We will allow a group of students to start the Math midterm 10 minutes early, at 9:25, and finish 10 minutes early, at 10:15. If you would like to take advantage of this early option, please be there at 9:20 so that those leaving early can all be seated together. Everyone else will take the midterm from 9:35-10:25 as usual.
Second Midterm. The second midterm will be in class on Monday, March 10. It will focus on sections 2.3-2.4 and 3.1-3.3. Although the second midterm does not specifically focus on the older material covered on the first midterm (sections 1.1-1.3 and 2.1-2.2), you will still have to know it of course. In Section 2.4, you only need to know the application we did in class (finite linear games). Here are some practice problems:
Practice First Midterm (posted Jan 29). The midterm will cover the material of sections 1.1-1.3 and 2.1-2.2. Here is a Practice Midterm for your download.
Homework answers (posted Jan 26). I have posted the answers to the first and second homework. Please click on "Answers" below. The username is "vector"; the password starts with "sc" and is the result of a dot product.
Practice problems (posted Jan 24). Here are suggested practice problems for Chapters 1.1-2.2. The following list of problems is rather long. Practice the ones you find more difficult.
Welcome to the course (posted Jan 6). Here you will find assigments, any handouts, and other up-to-date information about the course.
